Meet Dr. Hoag
Dr. Hoag has been in practice in Raleigh, North Carolina since 1997. She received her undergraduate degree from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, her doctor of chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia and her Certified Animal Chiropractic degree from Options for Animals in Wellsville, Kansas. Dr. Hoag is a North Carolina state, and national board, certified chiropractor. She is a licensed chiropractic extremity practitioner and an IVCA licensed animal chiropractor.
Dr. Hoag is a compassionate professional that still believes in taking time with her patients in order to address each individual’s unique problems and concerns. Dr. Hoag’s patient treatment style is biomechanically based. She spends time evaluating and working to correct flawed postures and poor habits that are destructive over time to the spine and joints. Treatment goals include proper movement of the spine and other joints of the body to produce more long-term stabilization of the patient. As an avid athlete she promotes physical fitness and health through wellness. Dr. Hoag believes that each person is a puzzle and needs to be addressed individually. She spends time to help each patient try to figure out how they can maintain their own health by educating them on a variety of topics from bad habits to proper exercise and nutrition.
As avid exercise enthusiast, Dr. Hoag understands the importance of allowing the patient to overcome injuries while continuing to train. She has developed a philosophy of healing focusing on maintaining the well-being and individual needs of each patient.
Dr. Hoag is as passionate about natural healing for animals as she is for people. It was her love for those fine, furry friends that led her to pair her undergraduate in Equine Science with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and become a licensed animal chiropractor. Hence the creation of Optimum Animals!
Dr. Hoag believes in a complimentary approach to healing and wellness for animals that includes an integration between traditional and alternative medicine for the best outcome of the patient. Dr. Hoag thinks that utilizing noninvasive and natural healing practices on patients with biomechanical issues, in combination with traditional veterinary care, can many times solve a problem without surgery.
